Filipino pool legend and Hall of Famer Francisco “Django” Bustamante, at 61 years old, continues to prove that he is one of the most skilled players on the planet. He claimed victory at the 29th Annual Jay Swanson Memorial (“The Swanee”), defeating Germany’s Can Salim in the final. Salim had been unbeaten heading into the championship match and had previously edged out Bustamante 8-7, sending him to the losers’ bracket.
Django fell behind early in the final, trailing 4-1, but he strung together several racks to take the lead. He closed out the match with an 11-9 victory, adding yet another achievement to his legendary career—along with the $2,700 top prize.
Bustamante is also currently competing in the Las Vegas Open, where he won his opening match earlier today.
Congratulations to the champ, Francisco “Django” Bustamante!
