Tallinn, Estonia – April 2025
The 2025 Predator European Pool Championships wrapped up in Tallinn with a series of standout performances, upsets, and dominant runs that reinforced Europe’s growing depth in cue sports. Over 300 players from across the continent competed across multiple disciplines, including 9-Ball, 10-Ball, 8-Ball, Straight Pool, Wheelchair, Under-23, and Team events.
In the men’s division, Finland’s Casper Matikainen captured his first major title, defeating Poland’s Daniel Macioł in the 9-Ball final, 9–6. The win marked a breakthrough moment for Finnish pool, with Matikainen showcasing composure and precision under pressure.
Germany’s Pia Filler delivered one of the most dominant campaigns of the tournament, claiming gold in Women’s 9-Ball and Straight Pool, and silver in 8-Ball. Her consistent high-level performances firmly established her as a leading force in European women’s pool.
A historic moment unfolded in the Women’s 10-Ball event, as Alara Ghaffari of Northern Cyprus secured her country’s first major continental gold. Her win over Portugal’s Sara Rocha in the final stood as one of the championship’s biggest surprises.
Veterans also made their mark, with Austria’s Albin Ouschan winning gold in 8-Ball and silver in 10-Ball, while teammate Mario He added multiple bronze medals across the men’s disciplines. Austria’s women also delivered in the team event, with Jasmin Ouschan, Sandra Baumgartner, and Lena Primus clinching gold.
Germany took top honors in the Men’s Team division, fielding a strong lineup of Stefan Kasper, Luca Menn, and Felix Vogel. The victory capped off a tournament in which German players medaled in nearly every category, from juniors to elite divisions.
In the wheelchair events, the long-standing rivalry between Finland’s Jouni Tähti and Sweden’s Henrik Larsson continued to produce high-level battles. Tähti won gold in both 9-Ball and 8-Ball, while Larsson secured the 10-Ball title, keeping the competition intense and balanced.
The Under-23 division highlighted Europe’s emerging talent. Germany’s Yuma Dorner claimed the 9-Ball title, while teammate Dennis Laszkowski earned gold in 8-Ball and silver in 9-Ball. Slovakia’s Kristian Mrva and Switzerland’s Silvan Starkermann also made podium appearances, pointing to a competitive next generation.
With a total medal haul across men’s, women’s, junior, and team competitions, Germany emerged as the tournament’s most successful nation. Austria and Poland followed closely behind, demonstrating strong depth and consistency.
The event, sanctioned by the European Pocket Billiard Federation and presented by Predator, ran from March 29 to April 8, 2025, reinforcing Tallinn’s reputation as a world-class host for international pool competition.
