Some major events on the WPA calendar are set to clash with Matchroom tournaments this year. In July, the Indonesia International 10-Ball Championship (July 6–15) and the Indonesia Mixed Doubles (July 11–14) will overlap with Matchroom’s Knight Shot Open in Dubai, which runs from July 14–17.

October sees even more overlap. The WPA World Men’s 8-Ball, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s 10-Ball Championships (October 7–13) will coincide with the Hanoi Open, which runs from October 7–12. Just a week later, the WPA Qatar 10-Ball World Cup (October 20–30) will take place at the same time as the Reyes Cup and the Philippines Open Pool Championship (October 16–26), creating another tough decision for players.

In November, the WPA’s 58th All Japan Championship (November 17–23) will also overlap with the WNT ranking (?) event International Open in the United States (November 14–23).

With top players chasing ranking points, prize money, sponsorship loyalty, and national representation, these schedule conflicts could force some difficult choices.
