The fourth tournament of the 2025 Polish Grand Prix POL TOUR series concluded with Mieszko Fortuński securing a 6–4 victory over Wojciech Szewczyk in the final.
Held over the weekend, the 22nd Gdańsk edition of the Polish Grand Prix Brześć Słomka Ptysiowa POL TOUR took place at Green Club Gdańsk. The event, which has been a regular fixture on the national calendar since 1998, once again brought together many of the country’s top billiard players.
A total of 121 participants registered for the June event. According to tournament organizer Marcin Krzemiński, the number of entries exceeded initial expectations: “I must admit that I did a lot of head-scratching to get as many people on the starting list as possible.”
During the opening ceremony, special recognition was given to Leszek Pieśniak, owner of Green Club Gdańsk, for co-organizing the event.
The tournament began with group-stage matches on Saturday, with players divided into 28 groups. From there, 56 advanced to the Sunday knockout rounds. Most of the top-ranked players progressed as expected.
After a full day of matches, Fortuński and Szewczyk reached the final. Szewczyk currently leads the national Open Ranking for the 2025 season, while Fortuński recently claimed the Euro Tour European Cup title. The final was closely contested, with Fortuński ultimately prevailing 6–4. Daniel Macioł and Wiktor Fortuński rounded out the podium finishes.
The next event in the POL TOUR series is scheduled for late October.
The total prize pool for the 2025 Polish Grand Prix Brześć Słomka Ptysiowa POL TOUR series is approximately PLN 66,500 (around €15,465). In addition to cash prizes, two professional Predator cues (each valued up to PLN 9,000) and promotional items from Brześć-Sipa will also be awarded.
