The global billiards community is in deep mourning following the sudden passing of Taiwanese pool star Chang Jung Lin, who died at the age of 40 due to an apparent heart attack.

According to reports circulating on billiard social media pages, Chang passed away while resting in his hotel room during the Indonesia International Open 2025. The news came as a shock to fans and fellow players alike, as he had just competed earlier that same day—July 14—to secure a spot in the Last 32 of the tournament.

Chang, just two weeks earlier, he captured the title at the CTPBA Pro Tour III on June 30, reaffirming his place among the sport’s elite.

In an official message, Taiwan’s Billiards Association President Chao Feng-Bang expressed the sorrow of the entire organization:
