AJ Manas edged out Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, 2-1, in a nail-biting opener at the Qualifier Stage 1 of the WPA Men’s 10-Ball World Championship.

The deciding set went to a shootout after Tùng forced a 3-3 tie in the third set. Both players made their first four shots before the cue ball was pushed further back. Tùng faltered on his next attempt, and Manas calmly drilled his to escape with the victory.
