Robbie Capito: “I’ve Earned My Spot. Now It’s Time to Make It Count”

For Robbie Capito, finally earning a place in the Reyes Cup means much more than qualifying for another major event.

The Hong Kong star has never hidden how badly he wanted to represent Team Asia. After missing out in previous editions, Capito finally secured his place by becoming the highest-ranked Asian player in the standings.

Asked by 77.billiards what finally representing Team Asia means to him, Capito said:

“To be honest, I feel like it’s a little overdue. I believe I should’ve been on the team from the very first year, and even last year.

“But I had to earn my spot the hard way, by becoming the highest-ranked Asian player and fighting through a field full of monsters.

“Now I finally get the chance to represent Team Asia, in front of an incredible Filipino crowd that I’ve experienced firsthand at the Philippines Open. And to do it alongside Carlo? That’s something I’ve always dreamed of.

“I know Team ROW is going to be stacked, and they’re not going to make it easy for us. But that’s exactly the kind of challenge I want.

“I’ve earned my spot. Now it’s time to make it count.”

Capito will now get his long-awaited opportunity to wear the Team Asia colors when the Reyes Cup returns to Manila this October.
