The Reyes Cup is moving to Makati Coliseum for its third edition this October 15–18.

Personally, I’ve never been to Makati Coliseum, but I think this could actually be a really good move.

The Coliseum has a capacity of around 3,500, roughly half that of Ninoy Aquino Stadium. In the previous editions of the Reyes Cup, only around half of Ninoy Aquino was really being utilized anyway, so a smaller venue should make the crowd feel much more packed, put everyone closer to the action, and hopefully create an even better atmosphere.

Makati Coliseum is also coming off a major renovation in 2024. By September of that year, the renovation was already reported to be 95% complete, and it was being described as newly renovated by October.

And one thing I noticed while checking reviews of the venue is how often people mention the air-conditioning. One recent visitor said it gets really cold inside even with a big crowd, while several others also praised how well air-conditioned the arena is. So if you’re going, you might want to bring something to keep you warm.

Tickets are now on sale, and for me, the ₱2,135 season pass for the entire four-day event looks well worth it. That’s just a little over ₱500 per day to watch the whole Reyes Cup live.

Team Asia will be going for a third straight Reyes Cup victory, with Carlo Biado and Robbie Capito already confirmed, while Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and Shane Van Boening have qualified for Team Rest of the World.
