Two-time World Champion Wojciech Szewczyk among the stars set for the Bilardowa Ekstraklasa Grand Final in Kielce!

World and European champions, winners of major international tournaments and multiple Polish champions will meet on 15 October at the Grand Hotel Kielce. Among them will be two-time World Champion Wojciech Szewczyk, who claimed his second world title just a few weeks ago. In the 2026 Bilardowa Ekstraklasa Grand Final, GKS Katowice and Fortis Bilard Kielce will battle for gold, with the organisers preparing a special setting worthy of the championship showdown.

The 2026 Bilardowa Ekstraklasa season is coming to an end. After three regular-season rounds held in Kielce, Łódź and Katowice, followed by the semi-finals, only the medal matches remain.

GKS Katowice and Fortis Bilard Kielce will compete for the most prestigious trophy. They were the two best teams of the regular season – GKS finished first with 24 points, while Fortis collected 22. In the semi-finals, GKS defeated Strefa Łódź 12–8 in both matches, while Fortis Bilard Kielce won the club derby against Fortis Bilard II Kielce 12–9 and 12–2.

The first gold-medal match will begin at 9:00 AM local time, with the second and decisive encounter scheduled for 4:30 PM local time. In between, at 12:00 PM local time, Strefa Łódź and Fortis Bilard II Kielce will play for the bronze medal.

World and European champions at one table

The Grand Final will provide an opportunity to see players whose achievements extend far beyond domestic competition.

One of the biggest stars of the final will be Wojciech Szewczyk of GKS Katowice. The two-time World Champion claimed his second world title only a few weeks ago, showing that “Szewa” heads into the Polish team championship finale in outstanding form.

Another major strength of GKS is Daniel Macioł. A World Team Championship silver medallist, World Cup winner and multiple medallist at the Polish and European Championships, Macioł belongs to the international elite. In recent years, he has proved his class in both individual and team competition and will be one of the players capable of having a major influence on the outcome of the final.

GKS Katowice will also feature Dominik Jastrząb, a Junior World Champion and multiple Junior European Champion, Sambor Stachowiak, a Polish Junior Champion and winner of the international Polish 9-Ball Open, as well as Jerzy Regieli.

There will be no shortage of big names on the other side of the table either. Karol Skowerski is one of the most successful and experienced players in the history of Polish pool, with his victory at the prestigious World Pool Masters among the biggest achievements of his career.

He will be joined by outstanding players such as Mariusz Skoneczny, Sebastian Batkowski and Jakub Chrobot, who claimed the Junior World Championship title this season.

The bronze-medal match will also feature internationally recognised players. One of Strefa Łódź’s biggest stars is Mateusz Śniegocki – a multiple European Champion, five-time Euro Tour winner, World Pool Masters runner-up and multiple Polish Champion. His achievements on the European stage mean that the battle for bronze also promises pool at the highest level.
