The fifth tournament of this season’s Predator POL TOUR Polish Grand Prix series has begun at the Strefa Billiard Club in Łódź. A total of 140 players have entered the 8-ball competition, while the event taking place on September 5–6 is already the 245th tournament in the history of one of Poland’s most important and longest-running billiards series!
Once again, Strefa Łódź has become a meeting place for many of Poland’s leading billiards players. The organizers have as many as 60 tables available for the event, allowing all groups to start their matches at the same time. Just before the tournament, the cloth on the tables designated for competition was also replaced.
On the first day, players compete in a round-robin group stage. The best players then advance to the knockout phase, where one defeat means elimination from the tournament. On Sunday, only the strongest contenders will remain in the competition, with the final scheduled for the afternoon.
This year’s season has been marked by high attendance and plenty of excitement from the very beginning. The January opener in Gdańsk attracted 173 players and was won by Konrad Juszczyszyn. In February, a record was set in Łódź with 189 participants, and Radosław Babica came out on top. The third tournament of the season, held in the Masurian region, was won by Wojciech Szewczyk, while Dominik Jastrząb triumphed during the June Baltic Billiard Festival in Gdańsk.
Now the series has returned to Łódź. Last year, Wojciech Szewczyk won the event here, defeating Szymon Kural in the final. Wiktor Fortuński and Tomasz Kapłan also reached the podium.
The prize fund for the 245th Predator POL TOUR amounts to PLN 10,000. The winner will receive PLN 3,000, the runner-up PLN 2,000, the semifinalists PLN 1,000 each, while players finishing in places 5–8 will receive PLN 750 each. Special season prizes are also planned, including a Predator cue for the best player in the overall season ranking, as well as another Predator cue to be drawn among players who compete in all six tournaments of the 2026 season.
– Predator POL TOUR has shown for years that Polish billiards is doing very well, and we are pleased to see such strong participation from players who want to compete regularly at a high level. We have two intensive days ahead of us, and I am convinced that we will see many excellent matches – says Marcin Krzemiński, Director of the Predator POL TOUR series and President of the East European Billiard Council.
The tournament is organized by Mak Marketing, with East European Billiard Council and Doorso as event partners, while the series is held under the patronage of the Polish Billiard Association. The General Sponsor of the series in 2026 is Predator Group, the Title Sponsor is Brześć Sipa, and the Main Sponsor is Kamui. The LIVE broadcast from the TV table is produced by TVSPORTS.PL.
