Centeno’s victory over Fisher propels her into the finals of the Predator World 10-Ball Women’s Championship

Chezka Centeno defeated Allison Fisher in the semifinals match of the Predator WPA World 10-Ball Women’s Championship. It was a hard fought battle for the Filipina cue artist as she was behind throughout the whole match. Due to a series of bad positional plays and missed shots, Chezka was down early to the score of 4-1. By the 6th rack, Chezka was able to make a bank shot off the 7 ball to close the gap by 2 racks.

On the next rack Fisher made a positional mistake after pocketing the 3 ball that allowed Chezka to inch closer 4-3. With Fisher able to “hold-serve” and Centeno coming up dry on her breaks, the match looked more likely to go in Fisher’s way with the score of 7-4. In the 11th rack, Centeno scratched off the break giving Fisher a chance to go to the hill. After a successful safety shot that made Centeno sell out on the 2 ball, Fisher proceeded to run out the rack which includes a tough cut shot on the 9 and a bank shot on the 10 ball to make the score 8-4.

On the 13th rack, Fisher broke the rack but was not able to pocket a ball. Centeno missed a shot on the 3 ball that gave the table back to Fisher. Fortunately for Chezka, Allison inadvertently run the cue ball to the 10 ball that forced her to play a safety shot on the 5. Chezka was able to make a bank shot on the 5 ball off the short rail to the opposite corner pocket of the table. This started the shift of momentum to Centeno’s side and she was able to go back to the flow of the match. Even with Centeno’s struggle with making a ball in the break, Fisher also missed some shots and botched a safety play in the 16th rack that enabled Chezka to tie the match 8-8.

Fisher broke on the 17th rack and was able to pocket the ball. Unfortunately for her, the 9 ball was positioned between the 1 ball and the cue ball. Fisher opted for a jump shot but fouled the 9 ball in the process. Centeno managed to run out the rack and defeated Fisher 9-8, securing a thrilling come-from-behind victory.

Chezka will now meet China’s Han Yu in the Finals which is scheduled 3:30 PM Austria time. Below is the link to the video which will be streaming live later today.
