Chezka Centeno is the new Predator WPA World 10-Ball Women’s Champion, having defeated Han Yu of China with a score of 9-5.
On paper, the match-up looked very promising: Yu, who had never been defeated in a championship game, faced off against Centeno, who is playing her first world championship game. Both players were undefeated throughout the tournament. This contest had all the ingredients for an exciting, back-and-forth battle.
But Chezka Centeno proved that she’s on top form. Making the game look easy with her fast and accurate playstyle. She showed all facets of her game — the improved safety play, the fearless offensive attacks and her sharp pocketing skills.
Instead of a barn fight, we had a relative lopsided match. But Centeno treated the fans with quite a display of her all around skills. Proving that all the touted potentials that we’ve seen from her is now realized to a dyanmic player.

What makes this victory even more remarkable for Centeno is that it came against arguably one of the best, if not the best, women’s players in the game today. Han Yu, known for her exceptional dominance prior to the 2020 pandemic, had recently claimed her second victory in the 2023 Ladies China Open in September, now that China has reopened.
Following the match, Centeno was overwhelmed with emotion and immediately sought out her mentor and friend and also a former champion of this event, Rubilen Amit, to celebrate her triumph. The $50,000 prize she earned is the largest ever awarded in a women’s tournament.
Centeno is a force to be reckoned with once she gains momentum. Her fast pace and exceptional shot-making abilities make her one of the most thrilling players in the game.
We firmly believe that this is just the beginning for the young Filipina phenom, and she possesses the potential to become one of the greatest women players of all time. This represents an exciting development for the future of Philippine billiards.
