Roland Garcia advanced to the Finals match without dropping a single set throughout the tournament.
In the first rack, Garcia missed a 3-10 combination, allowing Konrad to easily run out the rack and take a 1-0 lead.
In the second rack, Konrad was not able to make a ball off his break, with the 2 ball blocked by the 8 ball. This forced Garcia to play safe. Although Juszczyszyn sold out, Garcia made a positioning error, conceding the table back to the Polish player.
Moving on to the third rack, a poor push out from Juszczyszyn gave an open table to Garcia, who ran out for his first point in the match. Score is now 2-1 Juszczyszyn.
In the fourth rack, Konrad executed a clever push out to favor a jump shot for a left-hander, forcing Garcia to decline the shot. Unfortunately, Konrad overran position, resulting in a missed shot and giving the table back to Garcia. The Filipino missed his shot on the 9, costing him the rack. The score was now 3-1 in favor of Juszczyszyn.
The fifth rack saw Juszczyszyn miss a shot on the one ball but deny Garcia an open shot. The Polish player pocketed a long shot on the 1 ball. A missed shot on the 3 allowed Garcia back to the table, and he ran out the rack. The score tightened to 3-2 in favor of Juszczyszyn.
In the sixth rack, Garcia’s big break didn’t yield a ball, leaving the table wide open for his opponent. Juszczyszyn took the first set with a score of 4-1.
On the 2nd set and 7th rack of the game, another dry break by Garcia gave Juszczyszyn a clear runout, putting him ahead 1-0.
In the eighth rack, Garcia used a push shot that the Polish player obliged to shoot, making the one ball. Konrad forced three foul shots from Roland to take a 2-0 lead.
In the ninth rack, it was Konrad’s turn to have a dry break, but Garcia remained unlucky with the 1 ball. A brilliant kick-safe forced a foul from Konrad, giving Roland ball-in-hand. Garcia missed a shot on the 9 ball, compounding his woes in the match. The score was now 3-0 in favor of Juszczyszyn.
Moving on to the tenth rack, after pocketing two balls on the break, Juszczyszyn scratched after pocketing the 2 ball, giving the table back to Garcia. A relatively easy layout and runout provided Garcia with a chance to regain some confidence. The score tightened to 3-1 in favor of Juszczyszyn.
In the eleventh rack, Garcia had another dry break. Konrad made a good bank at the 4 ball, giving him a chance on a long shot on the 5, which he calmly pocketed. The final score was 4-1 in favor of Konrad, who became the champion of the Puerto Rico Men’s 10 Ball Open.
